Blomfelt & Narby return to Atomnation with a second release, this time in the form of their Several Decent Days Together EP. It is a lush, five-track melodic exploration with original artwork by Mikael Blomfelt featuring a housing block in Genoa.

Blomfelt & Narby were last on this label for its 100th release back in May 2022. That was with the spellbinding debut album Peter, Barbara, Beth & Friends, which brought together the synthetic and the organic, the acoustic and the electronic into escapist and harmonic tracks of pure beauty. Between them, Finnish-born Henrik Blomfelt and Swiss-born Gaspar Narby have done everything from indie pop solo projects to working as part of audio-visual collectives, and they both share a passion for exploring colour, texture and space in the studio. Their toolset includes laptops, old pianos and cassette recorders and with that, they cook up brain-soothing sounds and emotive musical landscapes.

'Lonesome Car Enthusiast' kicks off with signature expansive chords smeared over organic, minimal rhythms. It makes for a deeply absorbing atmosphere that has hints of regret, and loss, but also hope. 'And Sad Days Apart' has gorgeous ambient breaks and heat-damaged chords that convey a heavy heart as the drums drag below. The sugary chords of 'Conversations About Trading' bring smoothness to raisin bass and wonky, prickly drum sounds which unfold over four introspective minutes before the shimmering synths of 'Court Ordered Hydration' suspend you in a revitalizing reverie. 'Wrong Order At The Breakfast Parlour' is the most driving track of the lot, an artful piece of indietronica that douses you in comforting chords while making you dance.

Several Decent Days Together is another magical meditation on the power of melody.
